Foundation
Six years, one person, everything.
The 2026 refresh: a more current look, without losing what makes it theirs.
Homepage, 2026
The Gallegos Foundation runs a memorial golf tournament in Whittier. In 2020 they had no website at all. They have had one ever since, along with the hosting behind it, the print, the social graphics and the video, all from the same person.
The situation
A foundation this size does not have a marketing department. It has a founder, a small group of volunteers, and a tournament that has to be filled every year.
What they needed was not a project. It was someone who would still be there in year four, when the site needs updating three weeks before the event and nobody on the board knows where the domain is registered.
What we did
Built the first site from nothing in 2020, then kept it. Hosting, domain and email have been managed since, so nobody at the Foundation has ever had to think about a renewal or an expired certificate.
Every year brings the same rhythm: printed material, social graphics, sponsor pieces, and the site updated for the new date, the new sponsors, the new registration. In 2026 the whole thing was rebuilt to a more current design.
The brief for that rebuild was the same as every year: make it feel current, do not make it feel like a different organization.
Below the masthead: the story, the details, the registration and the sponsors, all on one page.

What I appreciate most is that I can give him an idea or direction and trust him to take it from there.April G.
Founder, Gallegos Foundation
Six years is long enough that the work stops being briefed and starts being understood.
The 13th hole
Six years in, BlackCat sponsors the 13th hole.
Longest Yard, gentlemen's rules. The sign, the table and the raffle prize are all part of the same job, which by now is less a client relationship than a standing appointment in August.
